Sundowning

Meaning:

"I really don't want to write an explanation to this. But I guess it's only fair. I wouldn't want to make this song jealous. It's still upset about ending up with that Jimmi Hendrix sounding rhythm. I suppose this is one of my power-trip songs. The songs that make me feel bigger than i am when I sing them. It's about several things. And barely makes sense to me sometimes... it's everything i was feeling when I wrote it. To break it all down:
1. The emotional openness that comes with writing songs and playing them for people. or crowds of people. And even posting the lyrics and explanations on a webpage, if I'm REALLY feeling open.
2. People who cannot let go.
3. The feeling that nothing really matters.
4. And this is the big one- people who put me on a pedestal for whatever reason. Maybe because I sing in a band. Or maybe it's because I can flip my eyelids inside out. I've narrowed it down to one of the two. But in either case, it's frustrating. Because I'm not even that great of a person, and I'm such a dork. I really don't know why that's so hard for some people to accept." - (Joe Hedges)
