This is one of those CD's that you can pop in the player and listen to from start to finish. Each song is full of the beautiful, meaningful lyrics and melodic guitar that have drawn me towards July For Kings. My wife isn't really in to music, but she loves this CD and keeps taking it from me to listen to in her car!

This CD is awesome, plain and simple. Great melodies, lyrically sound, overall wonderful sound. It's just a beautiful album. It is too short, though, which is the only problem at all. Half the length, but twice the quality of "Swim". I highly recommend this CD.

I fell in love with this band the first time i heard "girlfriend" from their previous cd. the only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the length, the seven songs are amazing, but i feel like i've been teased to not have a full 10-12. my personal favorites on this new cd are Float Away, and Blue Eyes (although why couldn't it be green eyes?)

Nostalgia is one word...Amazing! When my buddy Jym told me that JFK had released a new cd and let me borrow the CD I could believe how amazing it sounded. Every song on the CD is great. Personal favorites: Blue Eyes & One by One. One by One is especially touching since it reminds me of what happened to my hometown West Chester, OH. In my opinion this is the best Album JFK has done yet!

Nostalgia is an incredible release from an exceptional band. Hedges' signature, fine-tuned songwriting skills shine through on these seven tracks; especially the poppy nostalgic 'One by One' and the mellow, yet highly dynamic 'Float Away', which easily stands up to the best work from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Aside from the impressive songwriting, and notably tight sound from this band, Nostalgia is made even more impressive by the fact that it was done without major label support. This CD does exactly what it should do....leave you wanting more. I highly doubt that the major labels will let this gem sit untouched for much longer.

Its a great CD by a great band. The only thing is it should have been 8 songs instead of 7. Perect World should have been added, in my opinion , that song is like an extension to Normal Life. I love the cd and all the great music that goes along with it. Its a MUST have for any rock fan young or old.

'Nostalgia' is a great sophomore effort from July for Kings- not as stunning as 'Swim,' but still great. I had my doubts about a 7 song disc, but the guys went through 30 to find the best to put on the CD and it shows. 'Nostalgia' is exactly that- a collection of songs based around looking back on one's life and feeling a longing for the way things were, as well as expressing love for those things that are still connected to a person's life. I definitely recommend it for JFK fans, as well as alternative rock fans that have yet to become addicted to their music.

My brother gave me a copy of Swim a little while ago, and I really liked it, so I was very happy to find that another album was on its way. Nostalgia really delivered. Joe sounds a lot more natural, and the songs overall are amazing. Float Away probably edges out Meteor Flower from Swim, and I've been listening to the new album for about 2 weeks straight. Great work guys.

I'll be honest and say I wasn't entirely impressed by Swim. It had poor production, some seriously questionable lyrics and had a sound which didn't seem to fit the singers voice or the songs. Each and every one of those problems has been adressed on Nostalgia. This is a quite wonderful body of work with sumptious melodies, wonderful arrangements and sensational drumming. The entire package is now in place. Joe now sounds relaxed singing, far more comfortable, replacing the uneccessary straining of that debut recording. I can't recommend this record highly enough. It ticks all the boxes. In a climate where genuine talent seems a hard find here sits a band begging to be found. If you like melodic rock played to perfection with patience and maturity then look no further. You've found it right here. Well done lads.

I bought "Nostalgia" after listening to music samples (which I hardly ever do - I usually insist on hearing at least a third of a ablum's tracks in their entirety before I buy it) and I was absolutely thrilled. Every track is wonderfully unique and shows a depth of writing and musical composition that too many bands lack. My personal top three favorites from "Nostalgia" are: "Float Away," "The Distance," and "Invincible." But I can't end my review without commenting on "One by One" which - regardless of its intended message - seems to me is a cunningly-worded metaphor for the direction modern life is taking us. Just as the acceleration of the universe is pulling our solar system further away from everything else (until, one day in the distant future, we will no longer be able to see neighboring stars in the night sky) our needs for bigger and better and cooler *stuff* will leave us feeling even more alone. Overall, a brilliant album.

July for Kings has added it all to this CD! Swim was a great start for the band but I think they've really tied themselfs into this one. Nostalgia allows for some freedom with guitar solos, a must for a hard rock/metal fan such as myself, and it does an excellent job of exercising the bands chemistry. Amazing, I only wish they would've added more tracks. These guys are powerful!

The songs written by Joe Hedges on this CD are fresh with melodic hooks. And the variety among the seven songs makes this set extremely enjoyable to listen to. But as good as the songs are, they'd fall flat if they weren't played by a band like JFK that adds their own flavor of rock coolness. Check out the syncopated bass, drum, and guitar on the second verse of "Invincible", the haunting cello on "Float Away", or the gentle soaring of "Just Right" and you'll hear what I mean. JFK sounds better than ever and each song is a gem.

July For Kings has grown a lot musically since they released Swim and you can hear that on Nostalgia. I absolutely love it when T gets to play his cello on JFK songs. Float Away is one of the best songs I've heard this year! The most surprising song for me (in a good way) personally was Like That, which is the loudest song on the disc. From the real world song "Invincible" to the moving "Just Right", JFK showcase their diverse sound and talent; do not miss out on this great EP!

I adore JFK. I fell in love with them when I got the advance copy of SWIM. I can't get enough, I still listen to SWIM at least once a day. Nostalgia is a GREAT follow up. It shows the change & growth the guys are going for. Also its nice they let the fans hear some early verisons of the songs so we can even hear the progress from when they first started using them. You can't go wrong with JFK & their new CD.My favorite would probably be Invinsible. I can hear the changes they made also with The Distance. GO GET IT! and i LOVE CDBaby's Style & Personal Touch!

It's a shame that the record labels have not noticed that JFk are for real. This album provides further evidence of their skill as a band. The album, as a whole, is very catchy. july for kings' first cd, swim, never left my disc changer after i got it. the variety of music and the amazing melodies and lyrics were always great. nostalgia offers up more of the same formula, with a slow song at the end, some rockers in the middle, but it sounds a little less clear than their first cd- the song structure seems a little more generic and mainstream. this is no reason to pass it up though, this cd is a great listen.

Despite being only 7 tracks long, this is certainly worth buying. Its more mellow than the bands previous album 'Swim' but despite losing the spark they had previously, they have conjured up some wonderful warm sounding songs. The only poor track is Like That. Its like a token number by the track thrown on to add some rockyness to the album. Just my opinion. But the other 6 are all great and hopeufully this will be the start of bigger things.
