Meaning:
Joe's thoughts on the song: Chasing the Wind is about... exactly what it sounds. A "chase after wind" is something unreachable, or a futile effort. In the context of the song, i was chasing a shaky, short relationship with a girl. I was trying to trick myself into thinking that everything was going to work out, and that she was right for me. Eventually i gave up, and wrote the song. Lyrically and musically, i think it's easily the meanest song on the album. it's basically me telling a girl that she wasn't worth my time, because i couldn't get a specific (Archaic) Smile out of my head.
